Co-op Connections
YOUR GATEWAY TO GREAT LOCAL AND NATIONAL BUSINESS, PLUS PRESCRIPTION DRUG DISCOUNTS IS COMING THIS SPRING!
Red River Valley Co-op Power will soon participate in a cooperative program called Co-op Connections. The Co-op Connections card gives them access to great local business discounts and thousands of national discounts just for being a cooperative member. All members will receive a Co-op Connections discount card for free in the spring. Your cooperative has actively begun recruiting local businesses to participate in this program. More information regarding the added value this program brings to members will be in upcoming Sparks magazine issues, bill inserts and at the 75th Annual Meeting March 15.
One of the best parts of this program is discounts on prescription drugs for members. One local electric cooperative has already saved its members $18,000 and another cooperative $22,000 in prescription drug discounts in 2011 alone... just for using the Co-op Connections card at participating pharmacies like CVS, Target, Walmart and Walgreens. Savings on prescription drugs have ranged from 10% to 60% with the card (see Q &A below regarding the prescription drug program because it does not take the place of insurance).
To see the listing of local discounts available once you receive the card, click here: Local Discounts (will not be posted until March).

Q & A on Co-op Connections
What is Co-op Connections and how does it benefit me as a Red River Valley Co-op Power member?
Co-op Connections is a discount program for participating electric cooperatives and its members that provides discounts at participating local and national businesses, including prescription drug discounts at pharmacies. To use the card, simply show it or the key fob at a participating business to receive the discount. There are many health-related discounts available as well. The program is free to Red River Valley Co-op Power members. We decided to add the program after researching the value it has brought to members of other participating electric cooperatives.
Can I use my card at any participating Co-op Connections business across the country?
Yes. Your card will be accepted at any business that has signed up for the Co-op Connections program via other electric cooperatives. If you are in Fargo, use the card at participating stores there. If you are in Michigan and see a participating business, use the card. To see the complete list of all participating national and local businesses; simply click on the link near the top of this page. You can sort deals by zip code and more. It is that easy.
Why does Red River Valley Co-op Power participate in the Co-op Connections program?
Our goal is to bring members the greatest value possible for their cooperative membership. The Co-op Connections program is one way we can fulfill that promise. The program is free to members and benefits participating businesses as well because their name and products are promoted to our full membership.
